Telling it like it is was never so good. Thank you, Harold Estes!

Interesting that Snopes.com would not say "True", just "Correctly Attributed"...........
They did print a statement from the publisher of Fore 'n Aft stating that he could personally vouch that "the letter is REAL and so is Harold Estes".

"This is telling it like it is........

WW II Battleship sailor tells Obama to shape up or ship out !

This venerable and much honored WW II vet is well known in Hawaii
for his seventy-plus years of service to patriotic organizations and causes
all over the country. A humble man without a political bone in his body,
he has never spoken out before about a government official, until now.
He dictated this letter to a friend, signed it and mailed it to the president.

Dear President Obama,

My name is Harold Estes, approaching 95 on December 13 of this year. People meeting me for the first time don't believe my age because I remain wrinkle free and pretty much mentally alert.

I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1934 and served proudly before, during and after WW II retiring as a Master Chief Bos'n Mate. Now I live in a "rest home" located on the western end of Pearl Harbor, allowing me to keep alive the memories of 23 years of service to my country.

One of the benefits of my age, perhaps the only one, is to speak my mind, blunt and direct even to the head man.

So here goes.

I am amazed, angry and determined not to see my country die before I do, but you seem hell bent not to grant me that wish.

I can't figure out what country you are the president of.
You fly around the world telling our friends and enemies despicable lies like:
" We're no longer a Christian nation"
" America is arrogant" - (Your wife even
announced to the world,"America is mean-
spirited. " Please tell her to try preaching
that nonsense to 23 generations of our
war dead buried all over the globe who
died for no other reason than to free a
whole lot of strangers from tyranny and
hopelessness.)
I'd say shame on the both of you, but I don't think you like America, nor do I see an ounce of gratefulness in anything you do, for the obvious gifts this country has given you. To be without shame or gratefulness is a dangerous thing for a man sitting in the White House.

After 9/11 you said," America hasn't lived up to her ideals."

Which ones did you mean? Was it the notion of personal liberty that 11,000 farmers and shopkeepers died for to win independence from the British? Or maybe the ideal that no man should be a slave to another man, that 500,000 men died for in the Civil War? I hope you didn't mean the ideal 470,000 fathers, brothers, husbands, and a lot of fellas I knew personally died for in WWII, because we felt real strongly about not letting any nation push us around, because we stand for freedom.

I don't think you mean the ideal that says equality is better than discrimination. You know the one that a whole lot of white people understood when they helped to get you elected.

Take a little advice from a very old geezer, young man.

Shape up and start acting like an American. If you don't, I'll do what I can to see you get shipped out of that fancy rental on Pennsylvania Avenue. You were elected to lead not to bow, apologize and kiss the hands of murderers and corrupt leaders who still treat their people like slaves.

And just who do you think you are telling the American people not to jump to conclusions and condemn that Muslim major who killed 13 of his fellow soldiers and wounded dozens more. You mean you don't want us to do what you did when that white cop used force to subdue that black college professor in Massachusetts, who was putting up a fight? You don't mind offending the police calling them stupid but you don't want us to offend Muslim fanatics by calling them what they are, terrorists.

One more thing. I realize you never served in the military and never had to defend your country with your life, but you're the Commander-in-Chief now, son. Do your job. When your battle-hardened field General asks you for 40,000 more troops to complete the mission, give them to him. But if you're not in this fight to win, then get out. The life of one American soldier is not worth the best political strategy you're thinking of.

You could be our greatest president because you face the greatest challenge ever presented to any president.
You're not going to restore American greatness by bringing back our bloated economy. That's not our greatest threat. Losing the heart and soul of who we are as Americans is our big fight now.
And I sure as hell don't want to think my president is the enemy in this final battle.

Sincerely,
Harold B. Estes"

Obama and Biden take the cake.

I couldn't resist sharing these tidbits from a website Steve showed me. I am bound as a Christian to obey the leadership above me, and I will, but I also am bound by my sense of humor to laugh heartily when I see something funny. The YouTube videos that go with these links were VERY funny.
It is a sad day when the title of President of the United States no longer rings true for honor, respect, decorum and propriety, and instead, it becomes synonymous with bashing other great leaders, giving thoughtless gifts and offending special needs children.

10. Just after he's been sworn in by him, the newly-minted Vice President Joe Biden gets the name of Justice John Paul Stephens, "one of the great justices" of the Supreme Court, wrong by calling him "Justice Stewart".
9. Barack Obama jokes about Nancy Reagan having seances in the White House. He later called her to apologize after the AP noted that although she had consulted astrologers, "she did not hold conversations with the dead".
8. Joe Biden forgets the "website number" for the White House internet site designed to show how TARP money is being spent.
7. Barack Obama mixes up the windows and doors at his new home. (This was just funny- not offensive)
6. Joe Biden jokes about Chief Justice John Roberts fluffing the inauguration oath. The president is visibly annoyed with his VP and Biden later apologizes.
5. A Marine One double. First, on his maiden Marine One trip Obama breaches protocol and makes life uncomfortable for an enlisted marine by shaking the serviceman's hand as he's saluting his commander-in-chief. Then -Barack Obama bangs his head as he boards his helicopter. (I have decided that this president has spent way too much time rubbing shoulders with Hollywood celebs and not enough time researching and preparing for his new job. If I did that- refused to spend the time necessary to learn the policies and procedures of Legacy Health Systems, I would end up losing my license and probably get taken to court for malpractice. I should have been a politician!)
4. Joe Biden tells his wife that he had the choice of being either Secretary of State or vice-president - an offer that was news to Obama aides and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton when Jill Biden spilled the beans on Oprah. (Liar, liar, pants of fire. They roll way too easy off the tongue, don't they?)
3. Gordon Brown presents the new President with: a pen holder carved from the timbers of HMS Gannett, a sister ship of HMS Resolute; the commissioning certificate of HMS Resolute; and a seven-volume biography of Winston Churchill. In return, the Prime minister gets 25 DVDS, which don't work in Britain. (This one was just sad- how embarrassing for our nation. A world leader who is so inconsiderate. Maybe they were freebies from his Hollywood admirers. I hope they are proud of him now.)
2. Joe Biden tells a former Senate colleague who addresses him as "Mr Vice-President" to "give me a f---ing break". (I am just curious why you aren't hearing these all over the news, as we would have if it was Bush?)
1. The latest one takes the biscuit. Barack Obama jokes about the disabled on the Jay Leno show. Afterward, he calls the head of the Special Olympics to apologize. (Because an apology gets rid of the fact that you mocked them on national television. Anyone else think our president should be praying and preparing for his next work day, rather than chatting it up with Jay Leno? I bet if Obama wants to share his message, he can hold all the press conferences he wants- why pick late night t.v.? Because he wants to be cool, more than he wants to get the job done and help our country move forward? Maybe.)

Here is the link, if you would like to view our "great leaders", live and in color, for yourselves. http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/toby_harnden/blog/2009/03/20/top_10_gaffes_by_barack_obama_and_joe_biden_

All I am going to say about that....

"I like pigs. Dogs look up to us, cats look down on us. Pigs treat us as equals." Winston Churchill

Needless to say, I am extremely concerned about the events of yesterday and what it means for our great country. To have a president who acts more like a rock star than a thoughtful leader is a bit terrifying, but I know and trust God is still God, and He is on His throne- this too will serve His purpose. I will be praying for the new leader of the free world, and trying to bite my tongue when I see him do stupid things- to ensure the respect and dignity the office of President deserves and that it is not tainted by MY disappointment and frustration, but I don't feel any same sense of duty towards the misguided minds that put Obama in that office. Thus, very funny video-

Obama Win Causes Obsessive Supporters To Realize How Empty Their Lives Are

May we all hope these fickle pickles have some time to recover over the next 4 years and jump on a different band wagon next election. "Yes, we can." Just wondering if anyone else noticed that ridiculous slogan sounds an awful lot like the Nutty Professor's motto, "Yes, I can" when he is going to lose weight after watching a Richard Simmons aerobics tape. Hmmmm....no wonder Hollywood loves our new President, they get so much more screen time, and provide so much inspiration. :)

Obama's cabinet- how depressing.

I need to learn not to turn the news on right after Bible time. It is too much of a downer! News in general is a bummer, but I thought it would be important to see Obama's elections- yeah, not so much. I could have done without and gotten the list of people later on. To sit here and listen to Obama's eloquent speech, and then see the complete opposite as he tried to answer reporter questions was more confirmation that America is undiscerning and sheep following a sheep. We needed a true shepherd, a leader that would know his own mind and hold to his convictions of what direction we should go- instead, we get "Obama worship"- following a man who changes his mind like most do our underwear, puts Hilary Clinton, a woman he attacked and caste doubt on her abilities in foreign policy a year ago, as his secretary of state. Everyone wants to pretend this is a "team of superstars", but how likely do you think it is that you can put a bunch of opinionated, ego maniacs into a room and actually get things done? And more importantly, how likely is it that Obama- a man who can't speak his mind clearly without having it written down- is going to get run over by these strong personalities?
Whatever, whatever. God is still on His throne, and His plans will not be hindered. It just makes me sad to see Americans follow blindly, and not question the dishonesty and trickery right in front of them.

(The pic is one of my friend a few years ago in AZ- I needed to remember how to laugh after listening to Obama. She is hilarious!)

Riverlink

A new day, yes it is. Things are not looking so dark, but nothing has changed. Isn't that funny? Attitude is everything as they say. The end of the world could be here, and if your focus is right- you could be jumping for joy!
Today the kiddos are transferring to Riverlink, and it is going to be so cool! I love that they have to get up before the sun rises, and be intentional about their schedule. So much for - "I wish I went to real school"..hehehehe Two days a week of 5:30 am's and they are singing a different tune. I love the flexibility of homeschooling, and being able to really watch them grow. My thirteen year old son still wants to TALK to me, and loves debriefing with us after youth group, or any event. Go figure. :)
Busy times, but it helps me not be focused so much on the political scene. Jazz is getting her braces on Monday, so having this weekend to grocery shop and get her soft foods will be fun. (She is taking the dentist's recommendations very seriously!) God is good, even if the world is bad. I like that better than the dumb quote someone emailed me "Rosa sat so Martin could walk, Martin walk so Barack could run, Barack ran so our children could fly." Yeah, we will see. A man who changes his mind like the shifting wind is going to have a tough time not just becoming someone else's pawn.

"May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world." Galatians 6:14
